With a slant load trailer, the horse stalls are arranged in a slanted configuration from right to left; thus, you can haul two or three horses without requiring additional length or width in the horse trailer. This makes towing the horse trailer a lot easier and a smaller towing vehicle is required compared to a straight load horse trailer. The design of the trailer allows the wheel wells to be situated in one of two places on a slant load trailer. This allows you to choose between a wide interior trailer with wheel wells in the stalls and a trailer with unobstructed stalls.

A slant load trailer is best for smaller horses and they will usually have plenty of room, however bigger horses might be too cramped. If you only need to haul one horse, you can still buy a used slant load horse trailer made for two and take out the divider to provide more space for your horse. Or, you can buy a three-horse slant load trailer for two horses to give them more room to move and breathe.
